The Jordanian Minister of Interior, Mazen Al-Faraya, highlighted the positive impact of the amended Jordanian traffic law implemented in September of last year. This modification has led to a significant decrease in traffic violations and accidents in the Kingdom.
Al-Faraya disclosed that accidents in Jordan have declined by 22%, with accidents resulting in human injuries decreasing by 19%. Additionally, accidents involving collisions have reduced by 6%, hit-and-run incidents by 7%, and rollover accidents by 24%.
Furthermore, Al-Faraya affirmed in a statement to Jordanian television that violations for running red lights have dropped by 70%, while speeding violations have decreased by 40%.
He emphasized that the traffic law, which is part of the overall traffic safety system, has been well-received by citizens who have shown awareness and acceptance of stricter penalties to safeguard their safety.
