The Chinese automotive giant, Geely, has officially revealed the initial images and specifications of its latest icon in the luxury SUV world, the Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700. This vehicle represents an ambitious step for the brand into the premium off-road segment, armed with an unprecedented technological arsenal and mechanical power that places it in direct competition with the giants of this sector, such as the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, Land Rover Defender, and Nissan Patrol.

Structural Design and Dimensions: Military Presence and Boxy Styling

The Galaxy Cruiser 700 adopts a sharp, aggressive design language that merges rugged strength with a futuristic look. It features a massive boxy body, wide wheel arches protected by reinforced plastic against rocks, an upscale front fascia bearing the illuminated Galaxy logo, and square Matrix LED headlights.

Dimensions of the Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700:

• Total Length: 489.3 cm, which places it in an identical comparison with the dimensions of the Land Cruiser 300.
• Total Width: 202.8 cm.
• Total Height: 195.7 cm.
• Ground Clearance: A full 30.0 cm, which is an exceptional height for overcoming the toughest terrains.
• Water Wading Depth: Up to 80.0 cm, supported by an intelligent amphibious mode that allows the body to float temporarily during emergencies.

Powertrain: Extreme Power Exceeding 1,100 Horsepower

The vehicle relies on a hybrid platform developed entirely for electric SUVs and comes with a Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) system. This combination couples a highly efficient turbocharged gasoline internal combustion engine with three electric motors divided as follows: one motor mounted on the front axle, and two separate motors on the rear axle.

This fierce combination produces a power output of up to 830 kW, equivalent to 1,113 horsepower. The actual weight of the car is around 2,880 kg, yet it is about 710 kg lighter than its direct market competitors, giving it an extraordinary power-to-weight ratio of 288 kW per ton.

Suspension Technology and the European Stability Test

Despite the massive weight spanning nearly 2.9 tons, Geely delivered an engineering surprise by announcing the vehicle's success in passing the strict European stability and maneuverability test, known as the Moose Test, at a speed of up to 80 km/h with impressive success and without any body roll or flipping, thanks to relying on an independent rear suspension and an active hydraulic suspension system.

In addition, the vehicle was built with a structural framework featuring a torsional stiffness exceeding 40,000 Nm per degree. The traditional differential lock was eliminated due to a new patent from Geely, as the rear axle relies on a fluid-coupled mechanical hydraulic lock integrated between the two rear motors, allowing highly precise torque vectoring to each wheel separately and fully electronically.

Artificial Intelligence Arsenal and Autonomous Driving

The car is not just mechanical muscle; it is backed by AI systems to determine optimal energy sources based on road terrain. It is also equipped with tactical features such as advanced driving modes, including Crab-Walking, Tank Turns, and safe driving even during tire blowouts.

As for the G-Pilot H7 autonomous driving system, it connects to a LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof and wave radars on the front bumper. The advanced autonomous driving and navigation systems inside cities and on highways are powered by the ultimate Nvidia AGX Thor chip, capable of processing up to 700 TOPS.

Expected Launch Date and Target Markets

Geely is preparing to officially launch the Galaxy Cruiser 700 in the local Chinese market before the end of this year, with exports to global and Middle Eastern markets to follow. Additionally, production of right-hand drive (RHD) versions for global export has been confirmed for early 2027. Full interior details and official pricing will be revealed later this year.
