Genesis GV90 2027 Officially Revealed as the Brand’s Largest SUV with 657 HP and a 500 km Range

Genesis has officially unveiled the all-new GV90, the brand’s first large, full-size luxury electric SUV and the new flagship of the Genesis lineup. The model draws inspiration from the Neolun concept unveiled by Genesis in 2024.
The Genesis GV90 combines a large footprint, premium luxury, advanced technologies, and a dual-motor electric powertrain, along with a range of features designed to transform the cabin into a luxurious lounge-like environment.
Genesis GV90: The Largest and Most Luxurious Genesis Yet
The GV90 represents the pinnacle of the Genesis lineup and is the brand’s first full-size flagship SUV. It is built on the eMP (Electric Mobility Prime) platform developed exclusively for Genesis flagship models.
The SUV measures 528.5 cm in length, 203 cm in width, and 181.5 cm in height with 22-inch wheels, increasing to 182.5 cm with 24-inch wheels. Its 324.5 cm wheelbase contributes to a spacious and highly comfortable cabin.
Genesis drew inspiration for the exterior from Korea’s traditional Moon Jar pottery, while retaining key design elements from the Neolun concept and translating them into a production vehicle.
GV90 Neolun with Hidden B-Pillar Coach Doors
The Genesis GV90 is offered in two main versions: GV90 and GV90 Neolun.
The Neolun features one of its most distinctive design elements, the Neolun Arch Gate, which uses rear coach doors that open in the opposite direction and feature a hidden B-pillar.
Genesis describes the system as the world’s first independently opening and closing coach-door system with a hidden B-pillar. The doors initially move slightly outward before rotating, creating a wide and elegant entry into the cabin.
Despite the absence of a conventional visible B-pillar, Genesis developed a dedicated structural solution to maintain body rigidity and safety.
Front Seats That Rotate 180 Degrees
The GV90 Neolun introduces one of the most distinctive features in its segment: electrically powered front seats that can rotate 180 degrees.
When the vehicle is parked, the front seats can rotate fully to face the rear passengers, transforming the cabin into a lounge-like environment designed for conversation or conducting business while stationary.
The Neolun Executive Suite is also available with a four-seat configuration, featuring a real wood veneer floor inspired by traditional Korean ondol heating, a comfort partition separating the passenger area from the luggage compartment, and additional rear passenger controls.
Four, Six, or Seven Seats Depending on the Version
Genesis offers multiple interior configurations depending on the version.
The standard GV90 is available with six or seven seats, while the GV90 Neolun is offered with six seats or a four-seat Executive Suite configuration.
This flexibility allows the GV90 to function as either a spacious family SUV or a highly luxurious chauffeur-oriented vehicle focused on rear-passenger comfort.
Pop-Up OLED Cinematic Display
One of the GV90’s standout interior features is its wide OLED Cinematic Display.
In driving mode, the display measures 23.6 inches and combines instrument information, navigation, and multimedia functions into a single screen.
When the vehicle is parked, the display can rise by 9 cm, expanding to 24.6 inches to create a more immersive entertainment experience for passengers.
The GV90 also uses a 25-inch Head-Up Display to project driving, navigation, and driver-assistance information directly into the driver’s field of view.
A Luxury Cabin with Advanced Audio and Comfort Features
Genesis designed the GV90’s cabin as a premium living space, combining high-quality materials with technologies focused on passenger comfort.
Available features include massage seats, Ambient Glow mood lighting, and a Bang & Olufsen Premier 3D audio system with Dolby Atmos and 25 speakers.
The SUV also features a Smart Vision Roof, a heated windshield, and radiant heating elements integrated into areas such as the front and second-row console armrests, side panels, and door trims.
Dual Electric Motors Producing 657 HP
The GV90 is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive electric powertrain.
The front motor produces 240 kW and 350 Nm, while the rear motor delivers 250 kW and 450 Nm.
Combined system output reaches 490 kW, equivalent to approximately 657 HP, with maximum torque of 800 Nm.
The SUV also uses a Dual E-LSD system, which precisely distributes motor output according to driving conditions to improve traction and handling, particularly when cornering or driving on slippery and uneven surfaces.
123.5 kWh Battery and Approximately 500 km of Range
Genesis has equipped the GV90 with a 123.5 kWh high-voltage battery, the largest battery capacity among Hyundai Motor Group electric vehicles according to Genesis.
The seven-seat GV90 achieves an estimated range of approximately 500 km on a single charge, based on Genesis’ internal R&D testing. The company notes that this figure is based on internal testing rather than a specific internationally certified driving cycle.
10–80% Charging in 22 Minutes
Using a 350 kW DC fast charger, the GV90 can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes.
This fast-charging capability is particularly important for a vehicle equipped with such a large battery pack.
Multi-Chamber Air Suspension
The GV90 features Multi-Chamber Air Suspension, which uses adjustable air springs to vary suspension stiffness and ride height according to road conditions.
It is paired with Dual Valve Electronic Control Suspension (ECS) dampers that continuously adjust damping force to improve ride comfort and body control.
New Technologies for Comfort and Convenience
The GV90 introduces Genesis’ New Power Control System, eliminating the need for a conventional start button.
When the door handle is pulled, the vehicle begins preparing its systems. After the door is closed, the drive selector moves into position, while the Crystal Sphere Controller rotates to reveal the central control interface.
The SUV also features Pleos Connect for connectivity and entertainment, along with Remote Smart Parking Assist 3.
12-Airbag System Including a Roof Airbag
Safety is another major focus of the GV90.
The SUV is equipped with 12 airbags, including what Genesis describes as the world’s first Roof Airbag.
The vehicle also uses a new aluminum structure designed to increase body rigidity while reducing weight, alongside an impact-absorbing structure aimed at improving occupant protection.
GV90 Neolun First Edition: Limited to 222 Units
Genesis has also introduced the GV90 Neolun First Edition, a special version aimed at customers seeking an even higher level of exclusivity and luxury.
Production is limited to 222 units worldwide, with unique design and equipment focused heavily on the rear-passenger experience.
When Will the Genesis GV90 Reach Global Markets?
Genesis has begun introducing the GV90 in its home market of South Korea, with availability in other markets expected to follow gradually depending on local specifications and launch schedules.
Genesis has announced that the GV90 is scheduled to arrive in the United States in early 2027.
Pricing will vary depending on the market, trim, and specifications.
Genesis GV90: A New Contender in the Ultra-Luxury Electric SUV Segment
With the GV90, Genesis is presenting more than a large electric SUV. The company is positioning it as a new flagship designed to elevate the brand further into the luxury segment through a combination of Korean-inspired design, advanced electric technology, spaciousness, and high-end passenger-focused features.
The GV90 stands out particularly through its Neolun features, including coach doors, rotating front seats, a pop-up cinematic OLED display, and a lounge-inspired interior.
