Ferrari's "halo" cars are unveiled once every ten years, and today we are witnessing the dominance of a new Ferrari legend with the announcement of the 2026 Ferrari F80, which joins the rare lineage that traces its roots back to the 288GTO.
Ferrari marks a significant power shift compared to its previous models like the Enzo and LaFerrari. This represents an extraordinary and unparalleled transition in many supercars worldwide. While the Enzo and LaFerrari used V-12 engines, the F80 is equipped with a 3.0-liter V-6 engine with a rev limit of 9200 rpm. The reason behind this is that Formula 1 currently uses V-6 engines, and Ferrari considers its 120-degree V-6 to be its flagship, delivering top performance.
As for the aerodynamics of the Ferrari F80, Ferrari revealed that the downforce in its new car is massive, reaching 2315 pounds at 155 mph, thanks to active aerodynamics and a carbon-fiber floor design, along with a large rear diffuser.
The F80 also features a 48-volt active suspension system from Multimatic, providing greater comfort in the cockpit, especially at low speeds, while perfectly managing the significant downforce at high speeds. Additionally, the rear wing is automatically activated once the car reaches 37 mph.
The Ferrari F80 accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.15 seconds and reaches 124 mph in 5.75 seconds. This marks an extraordinary leap in performance and competition for many upcoming releases in the same category over the next three years.
The interior of the Ferrari F80 consists of two seats, but the driver's seat is positioned closer to the cockpit than the passenger seat and can be adjusted. Ferrari also announced the launch of its "Ferrari Forever" program, designed to provide high-voltage replacement batteries to ensure the continued performance of the new Ferrari for all its owners in the coming decades.
Ferrari also noted that the F80 will start at an approximate price of $3.1 million and will hit the market at the beginning of 2026.
