The giant Chinese technology company Huawei, known for its advancements in the tech industry, has unveiled its largest electric sports car to date, named "Aito M9." In this release, the luxury electric car will not be merely a secondary player in the market but aims to challenge major competitors like Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover in the Chinese market.
The "Aito" brand is the result of a partnership between Huawei and "Seris." In this collaboration of technological intelligence and industrial strength, Seris handles the manufacturing, while Huawei provides advanced electric technology, smart chips, sensors, and other intelligent components.
The Huawei Aito M9 is expected to be available in two versions. The first type is a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) with two electric drive systems providing up to 530 horsepower. The second type is an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV), relying on a generator to supply power, with a total output of 496 horsepower and featuring a 1.5-liter internal engine serving as a generator.
The Aito M9 stands out with its substantial dimensions, measuring approximately 5,230 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. These dimensions surpass its competitors, such as the Mercedes-Benz EQE and BMW iX sports cars.
The manufacturing of the Huawei Aito M9 is expected to take place in Seris' factory in Chongqing. Reports suggest that the trial production has already commenced, and the planned production volume aims for an ambitious target of 700,000 cars annually.
The "Aito" brand already has two SUVs in its lineup, known as "M5" and "M7." The prominent sports car "M9" is expected to join this collection in December.
The company has announced that the Aito M9 will be available for sale at prices ranging from 500,000 to 600,000 Chinese yuan, equivalent to 68,400 to 82,100 U.S. dollars, depending on the model.
With the launch of the new Aito M9, Huawei aims to strengthen its position and expand its influence in the electric vehicle sector by offering advanced technology and innovative design tailored to the needs of the Chinese market and future expectations.
The unveiling of this new car comes approximately two months after rumors surfaced about the Huawei Avatar 12 electric vehicle, expected to be launched by the Chinese company in collaboration with Chang'an and Catl.
