Nissan has announced new updates for the 2025 Altima model, removing the SR VC-Turbo engine option from the lineup, leaving the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 188 horsepower as the only available option. Additionally, Nissan introduced a new "Special Edition" package for the SV trim, offering advanced technologies that align more closely with the higher trims.
The starting price for the 2025 Nissan Altima is $28,140 for the base model and goes up to $35,970 for the SL trim equipped with an all-wheel-drive system.
A Single Engine Option
The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is now the sole option available, producing 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. All Altima models come with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while the SR trim includes paddle shifters for a more interactive driving experience. When asked about the removal of the turbo engine option, a Nissan spokesperson explained that the company adjusts its engine options to meet customer needs, highlighting that the 2.5-liter engine offers an optimal balance of fuel efficiency and performance, in addition to being compatible with the all-wheel-drive system that many Altima customers prefer.
Pricing and Trims
The 2025 Altima starts at $28,140 for the base S trim, which is an increase of $630 from the previous year. The SV trim starts at $28,570 and offers several options such as all-wheel drive and enhanced cabin technology. The new "Special Edition" package, priced at $1,090, includes the same 12.3-inch infotainment system found in the SL and SR trims, along with a wireless charging pad, dual-zone climate control, and a sunroof. This package also adds unique design elements to the SV trim, such as a rear spoiler, glossy black 17-inch wheels, illuminated kick plates, and a center console with a carbon fiber-like design.
The SR trim is priced at $29,970, while the top-tier SL trim starts at $34,470 for the front-wheel-drive model and $35,970 for the all-wheel-drive version. The 2025 Nissan Altima is expected to arrive at dealerships in the coming weeks.
