Jordan Slashes Import Tax on Classic Cars to 35%

The relevant authorities in Jordan have announced new amendments to the classic car import policy. These changes include reducing the Special Tax on classic vehicles to 35%, down from the previous 60%. The General Sales Tax remains fixed at 16%. This strategic move aims to revitalize the classic car market and support enthusiasts and collectors across the Kingdom.

Additionally, the 2026 Approved Classic Car List has been updated to include new models, providing a wider range of options for hobbyists wishing to import vehicles within the official legal framework.

In a significant development, the new policy now covers "Project Cars"—classic vehicles that require restoration or maintenance. This update opens the door for restoration experts and modifiers to revive vintage automobiles according to their unique vision, provided they meet clearly defined safety and technical requirements.
