Traffic Law for 2023: Explore the Key Violations and Amendments

The Jordanian Public Security Directorate's Traffic Department announced last Tuesday, September 12, 2023, the implementation of the new traffic violations law, which was issued in the official gazette a month ago. The new law includes stricter penalties, vehicle impoundment, and increased fines. The Security Department sent text messages to citizens and residents urging them to comply with and abide by the law to protect everyone.

The Traffic Department explained that the option to contest the fine amount is no longer available in the new law. Instead, drivers can only contest the accuracy of the violation itself. Previously, drivers could file objections to reduce the fines imposed on them, but this option is no longer available under the new law.
