Greater Amman Municipality Launches 10 Free Electric Vehicle Charging Stations to Promote Sustainable Transportation

The Greater Amman Municipality has announced the provision of 10 electric vehicle charging stations for free for three months at various locations across the capital, Amman. This initiative aims to promote the use of sustainable transportation and encourage citizens to switch to eco-friendly electric vehicles.


The charging stations are distributed across 9 locations in Amman, including:


- Two stations inside Al-Hussein Gardens parking lots.

- One station inside Al-Dustour Park.

- One station in the Greater Amman Municipality parking lot/main building.

- One station in the parking lot of the King Hussein Cultural Center.

- One station inside the parking lot next to the Al-Amanah Club building in Al-Lweibdeh.

- One station in the King Abdullah II Gardens parking lot in Al-Muqabalin.

- One station inside the Traffic Control Center in Tala Al-Ali.

- One station inside the Greater Amman Municipality fuel station in Tala Al-Ali.

- One station in the Prince Hussein Park parking lot in Bismam.


The municipality clarified that these stations are designed to charge electric vehicles with compatible Chinese, Korean, and American charging ports.


Through this initiative, the Greater Amman Municipality aims to support the transition to clean energy. These charging stations are an important step toward building sustainable infrastructure that contributes to improving air quality in the city and supports the government's efforts in combating climate change.
