After numerous possible leaks, Honda has finally unveiled its new electric car, the Prologue 2024, with impressive specifications. It's a midsize SUV that operates with either a single or dual electric motor, and it boasts several technological features and spacious interiors.
The Prologue 2024 will be available with two electric motor options. The first option includes a single front-mounted motor, and details about its performance have not been disclosed yet. The second option features dual electric motors with a combined output of 288 horsepower and 451 Newton-meters of torque.
Under the hood, the Prologue 2024 is equipped with an 85-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, providing a range of up to 481 kilometers on a single charge. Additionally, it can be fast-charged for 10 minutes to gain an extra 105 kilometers of range using a high-speed charger.
In terms of design, the Prologue 2024 resembles Honda's modern models, with integrated front headlights, a closed front grille, and horizontal daytime running lights. Its large sporty wheels measure 21 inches, and it features sleek side lines and LED taillights at the rear, with the updated Honda logo in the center.
The Prologue benefits from a longer wheelbase, providing ample interior space for passengers. It is 203 millimeters longer and 127 millimeters wider than the Honda CR-V.
Inside, the Prologue 2024 offers abundant passenger space and multiple storage compartments, thanks to its extended wheelbase. It features an 11-inch digital instrument panel, an 11.3-inch central infotainment screen, electrically adjustable driver's seat, and heated front seats. The top-end models come equipped with leather upholstery, front seats that are both heated and cooled, a driver's head-up display, and a premium 12-speaker BOSE audio system designed specifically for the Prologue.
Honda will begin accepting pre-orders for the Prologue 2024 later this year, with expectations of arriving in the market in early 2024, starting at a price of $40,000.
