Reviving the Legend: Volkswagen Seeks to Redesign the Scirocco with Advanced Electric Technology

Volkswagen is gearing up to unveil the all-electric new version of the Scirocco, aiming to revive its rich sporting heritage. The Scirocco was first introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 1974 and has since been associated with a strong reputation in the world of sports cars.

The electric version of the Scirocco will rely on a dedicated platform developed for the anticipated Porsche Boxster electric car, showcasing Volkswagen's ambitious endeavor to deliver a distinctive sporting driving experience.

Information from internal sources within the company indicates that the new car will be part of an electric sports project that includes the Porsche Boxster/Cayman, Audi TT, and the Cobra Dark Rebel.

The electric version of the Scirocco is expected to surpass the new Volkswagen ID3 model, which is considered the successor to the Golf.

Regarding the car's design, there is still much mystery, but it's evident that it will adopt the same design as the Porsche Boxster electric, which promises "exceptional rigidity," according to company statements.

Initial plans suggest that the car's performance will distinguish it from other models, with power reaching up to 300 horsepower in the standard version, and possibly exceeding 400 horsepower in the all-wheel-drive version with dual motors. The new Scirocco is expected to be built on the new SSP platform, which will also be used for the electric Golf, ensuring excellent sporting performance.

The launch of the electric Scirocco could take place later in the current decade, with expectations of significant success due to its intersection of the Scirocco's historical legacy with modern electric vehicle technology.
