Historical Surprise: British Company "McLaren" Officially Owned by an Arab State!

British automotive company McLaren, a leader in the development and production of high-performance sports cars, has announced that "Bahrain Properties" has acquired 100% of its shares.

Previously, Bahrain Properties, a subsidiary of the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, owned 60% of McLaren's shares, but it has now declared its acquisition of the entire company.

McLaren Group CEO, Paul Walsh, stated that this strategic move will bolster the company's long-term business plan and open up new avenues for investment within the automotive industry.

Experts believe that Bahrain Properties' acquisition of McLaren will enhance its ability to develop the next generation of supercars, including four-wheel-drive and electric supercars scheduled for release in 2028.

This move is likely to provide McLaren with the financial support needed to fund the development of future models and expand its range of electric cars. The company has faced financial challenges in recent years, having sold some of its historic cars in 2022 to finance the McLaren Artura supercar, and in 2021, it sold its headquarters and Formula 1 factory.

McLaren was founded by Bruce McLaren and Ron Dennis in 1989 in the United Kingdom and has since become one of the foremost companies in the field of high-performance sports cars. Over more than 35 years of experience, McLaren has developed numerous supercars that combine performance and technology, both independently and in collaboration with partners such as Ford and Mercedes-Benz.
