A study conducted by the American Consumer Reports organization revealed the results of the survey on the most reliable cars and brands in the United States for the year 2023. Japanese brands, Lexus and Toyota, dominated the list, with Lexus taking the top spot, followed by Toyota, which also topped the list of the most reliable cars in the United States for 2023.

The study relied on data from over 330,000 different vehicles in the United States, covering models from 2000 to 2023, including a few 2024 models. This study encompassed 20 different aspects to evaluate brands and their cars, considering factors such as faults, maintenance quality, and more.

The evaluation results were divided into two stages. In the first stage, which focused on brand evaluation, Lexus secured the first position with 79 points out of 100, followed by Toyota with 76 points. In a surprising twist, the English brand Mini claimed the third spot with 71 points, followed by Acura with 70 points. Honda secured the fifth position with 70 points as well.

As for the bottom five positions, Chrysler found itself in the last place with only 18 points, while Mercedes ranked 29th with 23 points. Rivan occupied the 28th position with 24 points, and Volkswagen claimed the 27th position with 26 points. Jeep, on the other hand, was in the 26th position with 26 points.

Moving on to the second stage of the evaluation, which determined the most reliable cars in the United States for 2023, Toyota dominated by securing seven out of the top ten positions. The Toyota 4Runner topped the list with 87 points, followed by the Toyota Camry Hybrid with 87 points. The Toyota Camry claimed the third spot with 86 points, followed by the Toyota RAV4 Prime with 84 points.

In the upper positions, the BMW X5 and Subaru Forester both scored 82 points. Acura RDX also excelled with 80 points, alongside the Toyota RAV4. In the lower positions on the list, the Toyota Corolla scored 77 points, followed by the Toyota Highlander Hybrid with 75 points.
