By Government Directives.. Fuel and Gasoline Prices Fixed in Jordan for August 2026

The Oil Derivatives Pricing Committee held its regular meeting today, Friday, to announce the fuel prices applicable starting from the first of next August.

Official Fuel Price List for August Under the decision, the prices for oil derivatives applicable as of August 1st are set as follows:

• Octane 90 Gasoline: 1000 Fils/Liter (1 JOD).
• Octane 95 Gasoline: 1310 Fils/Liter (1.31 JOD).
• Diesel: 850 Fils/Liter.
• Kerosene: 550 Fils/Liter.
• Household Gas Cylinder (12.5 kg): Price fixed at 7 JOD. The committee also affirmed the continuation of subsidies for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) allocated for the industrial sector, with designated support reaching up to 1.25 million JOD.

Reasons and International Price Variances The committee explained that its review of average global prices during the month of July showed a noticeable increase compared to June, particularly for diesel and kerosene, due to renewed political crises and escalation in the region during the second half of the month.

The committee pointed out that local prices did not reflect the actual costs of global increases as a result of the government's gradual policy and its absorption of price differences; total subsidies and price variances borne by the Treasury since the start of the crisis through the end of July reached approximately 212 million JOD, including subsidies for household gas cylinders.

It noted that the pricing mechanism relies on calculating the monthly average of global crude oil and derivative prices for the 30 days preceding the pricing decision, emphasizing the continued monitoring of international markets to take appropriate decisions in a timely manner to safeguard economic and financial stability in the Kingdom.
