Jordan Announces Fuel Prices for October 2026

Jordan’s Fuel Pricing Committee announced the fuel prices that will take effect on October 1, 2026, following its regular meeting on Wednesday.

The committee said global crude oil and refined petroleum prices recorded a significant increase during September, driven by continued geopolitical tensions in the region and their impact on international energy markets.

Despite the increase in global prices, the committee decided to implement a partial adjustment to local fuel prices as part of the government’s gradual pricing policy. The prices of both grades of gasoline and diesel were increased by 50 fils per liter, while the price of kerosene remained unchanged.

Jordan Fuel Prices for October

  • 90-octane gasoline: 1,050 fils per liter.
  • 95-octane gasoline: 1,360 fils per liter.
  • Diesel: 900 fils per liter.
  • Kerosene: 550 fils per liter.
  • 12.5 kg household LPG cylinder: JOD 7.

The government will also continue supporting liquefied petroleum gas allocated to the industrial sector, with support amounting to approximately JOD 1.8 million during October.

Local Prices Remain Below Some Actual Costs

The committee explained that Jordan’s local fuel pricing mechanism is based on the monthly average of international prices during the 30 days preceding the pricing date.

However, under the government’s gradual adjustment policy, local prices continue to remain below the actual costs of several petroleum products, even after taxes are taken into account.

For October, the actual costs compared with the approved local prices were:

  • Diesel: Actual cost of 1,077.32 fils per liter, compared with a local price of 900 fils.
  • Kerosene: Actual cost of 1,043.79 fils per liter, compared with a local price of 550 fils.
  • 90-octane gasoline: Actual cost of 1,111.68 fils per liter, compared with a local price of 1,050 fils.
  • 95-octane gasoline: Actual cost of 1,360.08 fils per liter, compared with a local price of 1,360 fils.

Government Support Reaches JOD 255 Million

The committee stated that the total government support and price differences absorbed since the beginning of the crisis until the end of September reached approximately JOD 255 million.

The additional costs resulted from higher global petroleum prices and the decision not to fully reflect actual costs in monthly domestic fuel prices, with the aim of easing the impact on consumers and the national economy.

The committee said the gradual adjustment of fuel prices is intended to reduce domestic price fluctuations and provide greater stability for consumers and economic sectors amid continued uncertainty in global energy markets.

The committee will continue to monitor international energy prices and their impact on domestic costs on a monthly basis, taking into account developments in global markets and geopolitical conditions when making future pricing decisions.
