YANGWANG ALTIOR makes global debut in Abu Dhabi: Luxury electric sedan with a range exceeding 1,000 km

YANGWANG, the luxury automotive brand under Chinese automaker BYD, has unveiled its new YANGWANG ALTIOR for the first time globally at an event held in Abu Dhabi on November 7, 2026. With this model, the brand enters the ultra-luxury electric sedan segment, targeting established names such as the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

The vehicle is known as Dingyao in the Chinese market, while ALTIOR is the name adopted for international markets. Its design and interior reflect YANGWANG’s approach of combining Chinese heritage with modern electric technologies, with a strong emphasis on passenger comfort and a premium travel experience.

Design inspired by Chinese heritage

YANGWANG drew inspiration for the ALTIOR’s design from the traditional Chinese bronze vessel known as the Ding, historically associated with prestige and status. This influence is reflected in the vehicle’s upright front-end styling and front grille, which features 137 decorative elements inspired by precious gemstones.

The car also features a badge made from 24-karat gold, distinctive geometric headlights, and extended side lines that give the body a commanding presence. Its doors open in opposite directions, with the front doors opening to an angle of up to 80 degrees and the rear doors up to 90 degrees, enhancing accessibility while adding a distinctive design feature.

The YANGWANG ALTIOR measures approximately 5,600 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,590 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,500 mm. These dimensions provide a spacious cabin, particularly for rear-seat passengers.

Four-seat cabin with executive-level features

The ALTIOR adopts a four-seat interior layout, with a clear focus on delivering a comfortable experience for rear passengers. It features aircraft-inspired seats with zero-gravity positioning and electric massage functions.

The cabin includes a panoramic display, a central rear control area, and a front passenger seat that can fold away to provide additional space and visibility for the rear occupant. The car is also equipped with a Dynaudio Platinum Evidence sound system featuring 39 speakers, designed to deliver an immersive audio experience.

Additional reported features include a 21.4-inch overhead rear display, front and rear refrigerators, and a selection of premium materials and finishes that reinforce the vehicle’s executive character.

Four electric motors and a range exceeding 1,000 km

The YANGWANG ALTIOR is powered by a fully electric system featuring BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery. It offers a driving range exceeding 1,000 km under the Chinese CLTC test cycle. However, the company has not yet disclosed the battery’s official capacity or the vehicle’s total power and torque figures.

The vehicle uses the e⁴ platform, which incorporates four independent electric motors. The system can distribute and control torque independently at each wheel, enhancing stability and handling under different driving conditions.

Its advanced capabilities include the ability to rotate on the spot, maintain control in the event of a high-speed tire blowout, and activate an emergency flotation function if the vehicle enters water.

The ALTIOR is also equipped with BYD’s active DiSus body control system, which reads road conditions and adjusts the suspension response accordingly. This technology is designed to improve ride comfort while reducing body movement and roll through corners.

Advanced intelligent driving technologies from BYD

In terms of driver-assistance technology, the ALTIOR is the first vehicle to use BYD’s new Xuanji A3 chip, manufactured using a 4-nanometer process. It works alongside the God’s Eye A system, which supports advanced driving-assistance functions, including point-to-point navigation assistance, highway and urban driving assistance, and automated parking features.

Through these technologies, YANGWANG aims to combine advanced electric performance and vehicle control with high levels of comfort and luxury in a sedan targeting the ultra-premium executive segment.

Launch timeline and pricing

YANGWANG has announced the ALTIOR in Executive and Bespoke versions, while pre-orders have opened in China for a special limited edition called Shanhe Dingyun, inspired by mountains and rivers in Chinese culture.

According to Chinese media reports, the limited edition is expected to be priced at approximately 2.08 million yuan, although this figure is not a confirmed final price for all markets. The company has not yet announced official pricing or detailed availability dates for international markets.

With the unveiling of the ALTIOR, YANGWANG is expanding its presence in the luxury automotive sector, introducing an electric sedan that combines substantial dimensions, heritage-inspired design, and advanced technologies in a move that reflects BYD’s ambition to compete with traditional luxury brands at the highest end of the market.
