Mercedes-Benz Launches Mythos: A New Symbol of Luxury Surpassing Maybach Cars

In line with customers' aspirations for distinction and luxury, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its plan to launch a new series of luxury cars under the name "Mythos". This announcement comes after the company disclosed its results for the year 2023 to investors, emphasizing its commitment to meeting the demands of the most discerning customers. This plan includes expanding the "Manufaktur" customization program, collaborating with the fashion house "Moncler", and releasing limited editions of Mercedes-Maybach cars with a design collaboration with Virgil Abloh, in addition to announcing the first car in the anticipated Mercedes Mythos series to be launched in 2025.

Despite the secrecy surrounding the details of the first model of Mercedes Mythos cars, indications suggest that it may be an evolution of the new generation of the SL car.

Mercedes-Benz describes the "Mythos" collection as a "series of exclusive luxury cars aimed at customers seeking ultimate distinction and luxury".

The company has noted that these cars will be available to "the most enthusiastic and dedicated buyers", implying that the opportunity to own one of these cars may be limited to a select number of distinguished customers.

This approach is not new in the luxury car industry, as Bentley, for example, has previously launched limited editions like the "Bacalar" and "Batur", offering the opportunity first to brand enthusiasts and dedicated collectors for a long period. Limited quantities of each of these models, which were limited to 12 and 18 units respectively, quickly sold out despite their high prices.

It seems that Mercedes-Benz is seeking to attract the same segment of customers with "Mythos".

In 2022, Gordon Wagener, Head of Design at Mercedes-Benz, posted a mysterious dark teaser image of the first "Mythos" model. It was difficult to discern the details of the car accurately. The image displayed a roadster resembling the SL, but with different design elements such as the shape of the headlights and the rear trunk lid.

Although the new model may be closely related to the SL car from a technical standpoint, Wagener's Instagram post reveals that the new model will require additional design details and modifications to embody the "Mythos" character.

More details about the first model from Mercedes-Benz bearing the "Mythos" emblem are expected to emerge in the coming months, fueling anticipation and increasing excitement for the company's innovations that enhance its position in the luxury car world.
