2025 Ford Mustang GT-D: A Real Beast with Up to 800 Horsepower

Several years ago, Ford set out to design a Mustang that would outperform all its competitors in the world of European sports cars. In 2021, a distinguished group of Ford team members gathered to build all the hypotheses, designs, and innovations until they were able to create the first limited-edition model that complies with legal regulations for road use while embodying the famous Mustang spirit. Thus, the Ford Mustang GT-D 2025 was born and developed in collaboration between Ford and Multimatic.

Ford will offer this new car under the name "Mustang GT-D 2025," as a technological model inspired by the "Mustang GT 3," which is set to compete in the Le Mans race next year. This model comes with a unique design compared to the well-known Mustangs, with a wide structure made of carbon fiber. It features a rear wing that reveals many of its unique features, and you can notice the radical differences from any previous Mustang.

Every part of the "Mustang GT-D" was designed for a specific function and to achieve a clear goal of performance excellence on the track, in addition to high-level innovative technologies. This car has been designed to be the fastest Mustang ever.

The "Mustang GT-D" stands out for its exceptional road stability, thanks to active aerodynamics and massive tires with a multi-link suspension system at the front and rear. It also comes with a carbon ceramic brake system that can bring it to a quick halt, along with a dual-clutch transmission at the rear for perfect weight distribution and eight-speed levels. All these elements are controlled by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine producing 800 horsepower.

It's worth noting that the "Mustang GT-D" benefits from innovative technologies like front air panels that can be hydraulically controlled to achieve perfect aerodynamic balance in coordination with the active rear wing. Additionally, "Mustang GT-D 2025" relies on a semi-active suspension system and a hydraulic control system instead of the traditional rear trunk. This system includes two outlets to direct air from the rear window into the area and through heat exchange units.

Performance and capability

have been significantly improved through the semi-active suspension system, which can adjust its rates and height. An adaptive roller valve alongside the height-adjustable suspension offers two unique modes that can be hydraulically activated, enhancing performance both on roads and tracks. Suspension height can also be adjusted by approximately 40 millimeters for track driving. Overall, the front track width is wider by about four inches compared to a standard Mustang.

The front tires of the "Mustang GT-D 2025" are wider at 325 millimeters, equivalent to the rear width of the Ford GT, while the rear tires measure 345 millimeters. These tires are mounted on aluminum wheels measuring 20 inches or magnesium wheels, providing a perfect balance between weight and durability with a design reminiscent of the "Mustang GT 3" race car.

The Brembo brakes feature carbon ceramic brake materials and have been enhanced to withstand excessive heat, ensuring consistent and efficient braking when needed. The rear brakes are cooled through integrated cooling channels beneath the rear suspension.

Interior and Design

Luxurious materials like leather combined with carbon fiber have been used in the design of the interior of the "Mustang GT-D 2025." The premium character is evident with digital screens that allow drivers to have complete control and monitor information while driving. Enhanced RECARO seats feature side panels made of titanium with 3D printing, a rotary switch tool, and a sequential plate, all made from titanium material extracted from Lockheed Martin F-22 aircraft. The rear seating area has been removed to reduce weight and provide space for luggage.

"Mustang GT-D 2025" is available in several interior colors in distinctive option packages that elevate its appearance to an astonishing level. Customers can also request the car in any color they choose, allowing buyers to get a unique model that reflects their tastes and needs.

Expected Price

The "Mustang GT-D 2025" will be available in limited quantities, and it's expected to start at around $300,000 USD (manufacturer's suggested retail price). The car will be manufactured at the Ford Flat Rock Assembly Plant and then transported to Multimatic facilities in Markham, Canada, where it will be meticulously handcrafted, drawing inspiration from race cars, in a collaborative effort between the Ford Performance team and Multimatic. The car is expected to be available in the market by the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025.
