Tesla has announced a recall of 11,688 electric "Cybertruck" vehicles due to a defect in the windshield wipers that may affect visibility, increasing the risk of accidents. This information was released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the United States.
In a separate statement, the NHTSA reported that Tesla would recall an additional 11,383 units of the same truck due to the possibility of improper installation of a part of the truck bed cover, which could detach and pose a risk to vehicles driving behind these trucks.
In a previous incident in April, Tesla recalled about 4,000 "Cybertruck" vehicles to fix an issue with the accelerator pedal, which might not remain in place.
This latest recall represents another setback for the "Cybertruck," which is expected to begin mass production next year. Tesla has not yet disclosed the number of trucks delivered to consumers in its quarterly delivery and production report.
It's worth noting that this is not Tesla's first recall due to technical issues. In December of last year, the company recalled about two million vehicles in the United States due to a problem related to its driver assistance system, admitting that the current controls might not be sufficient to prevent misuse by drivers.
