In a bold step that redefines electric luxury in the mid-size SUV segment, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the all-electric generation of the GLC – branded as the GLC with EQ Technology. The model arrives with a daring design identity and a suite of advanced digital technologies, most notably the 39.1-inch Hyperscreen stretching seamlessly from A-pillar to A-pillar, paired with a dedicated EV platform that delivers a driving range of up to 713 km (WLTP). All of this is wrapped in comfort and refinement worthy of one of the brand’s most important nameplates.
Distinctive Design with Unprecedented Lighting Details
The all-electric GLC features a striking illuminated front fascia with intricate pixel-style details, while maintaining the recognizable GLC silhouettem, but with a purely electric character. The optional “SKY CONTROL” panoramic roof brings a unique visual spectacle with 162 embedded light points that synchronize with the ambient interior lighting, creating an upscale and immersive atmosphere inside the cabin.
A Fully Digital Cockpit: 39.1-Inch Display and Fourth-Gen MBUX
Dominating the dashboard, the 39.1-inch Hyperscreen offers a wide and intuitive interface rich with graphics and smart functions. It operates on MB.OS paired with the fourth generation of MBUX, delivering faster responses, broader cloud-based integration, enhanced smart assistance, and highly customizable user profiles and display settings.
More Space and Practicality
Dimensionally, the wheelbase has grown by 8.4 cm, translating directly into more legroom in both the front and rear rows. The front trunk (frunk) offers 128 liters of storage capacity—among the largest in its German segment—complemented by a 570-liter rear trunk, expandable to 1,740 liters with the 40:20:40 split-folding seats. These practical figures make the electric GLC an ideal choice for families and long journeys alike.
Advanced Electric Drivetrain and Range of up to 713 km
The SUV is built on an 800-volt architecture and houses a 94 kWh battery pack. Mercedes has announced a driving range of up to 713 km (WLTP) in one of the trims. Two main versions will be available at launch:
GLC 300+: rear-wheel drive with a single motor.
GLC 400 4MATIC: dual-motor, all-wheel drive with higher output.
The electric GLC supports DC fast charging up to 330 kW (and AC charging up to 22 kW). Charging from 10% to 80% takes about 24 minutes under ideal conditions, while approximately 300 km of range can be added in just 10 minutes of ultra-fast charging—figures that position it as a leader in efficiency and speed within its class.
First-Class Driving Comfort
For smoothness and stability, the SUV offers the AIRMATIC air suspension system, along with rear-axle steering for improved agility. It also delivers a towing capacity of up to 2.4 tons, expanding its versatility for family and recreational use, including boats and trailers.
Sustainability Meets Luxury
Mercedes introduces a fully vegan interior package, crafted with certified, carefully processed materials that achieve a premium feel without animal leather. The GLC also incorporates recycled materials and refined decorative trims. Complementing this sustainable approach are the latest driver assistance systems and environmental sensors—cameras, radars, and ultrasonic modules—all integrated within MB.OS to enable continuous over-the-air updates.
The dual-motor version will be rolled out first in select global markets, followed later by the single-motor model. With this launch, Mercedes is betting that the electric GLC will serve as a pillar of its renewed lineup, combining long-range capability, rapid charging performance, and a class-leading digital experience.
