The signing of a memorandum of understanding between the TÜV Rheinland Group and Autoscore, the leading provider of comprehensive vehicle inspection services in Jordan, took place in the presence of Mr. Issa Alaydie, General Manager for Government Inspections and International Trade in the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Tamer Qazza, General Manager for Government Inspections and International Trade in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Mr. Mubarak Abu Aisha, Operations Manager at the Jordan office of TÜV Rheinland Group, the first body accredited by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization. Also present were Mr. Mohammed Abu Hamda and Mr. Mohammed Al-Samadi from Autoscore, the sole comprehensive vehicle inspection provider in Jordan.

The memorandum of understanding was signed on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 to enhance cooperation and exchange best practices that support the common goal between the parties under the new regulation of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization regarding inspection services and issuance of conformity certificates for used and imported vehicles to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Both parties look forward to a strategic step aimed at enhancing cooperation and unifying efforts to provide simple, accurate, and high-quality inspection and conformity services. In this regard, Mr. Mohammed Abu Hamda stated, "The automotive sector is rapidly evolving, and the entry of modern technology into the automotive industry raises concerns for the importer when it comes to applying for a conformity certificate, especially when the car is used, which is the subject of our agreement today.

We have 4 branches, more than 80 authorized showrooms, deal with 16 accredited entities, have inspected over 100,000 cars over 6 years, and uncovered more than 14,000 cases of inspection manipulation. We are here today to support TÜV Rheinland as the first approved body by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, and we will represent them as a specialized team in comprehensive inspection procedures. This will be done through more than 200 points covering all parts of the car with the latest inspection methods and tools from the German company Bosch. The Autoscore system inspects all components of the car from the chassis and structure, to the mechanical and electrical systems for all types of cars (petrol, hybrid, and electric)."

With the same regards, Mr. Issa Alaydie emphasized the importance of this partnership, which aligns its goal with the vision and mission of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization regarding verifying the compliance of used and imported cars with technical regulations and local and international quality standards. "In the midst of our continuous efforts over the past twenty years with the organization, we seek through this agreement to enhance mutual cooperation between the two parties (TÜV Rheinland and Autoscore) by exchanging our expertise in the field to facilitate the exporter's procedures from Jordan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and provide him with a smooth experience to ensure the safety of his used car and obtain a SABER conformity certificate before shipping. He added, "Through the Saber platform, we are responsible for issuing the conformity certificate to be obtained by the exporter of the used car from Jordan after directing him to our strategic partner and official supporter Autoscore to inspect the vehicle's safety."

In accordance with the quality standards set by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization regarding the entry of used cars into the country, TÜV Rheinland aims, through its agreement with Autoscore Foundation, which relies on scientific and engineering principles to measure the efficiency of the car internally and externally, to assist the Saudi government in ensuring that importers of used cars comply with local and international standards and simplify procedures by using the SABER platform of the organization to obtain a conformity certificate and facilitate the clearance of shipments smoothly, and easily access the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from exporting countries such as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
