French automaker Peugeot has unveiled the first official images of the 2024 Peugeot E-3008, giving a sneak peek at its exterior design ahead of the official debut on September 12th.
The third-generation Peugeot E-3008 is evolving into a fully electric compact sports coupe, geared to compete with a range of upcoming electric cars in its segment. The car's exterior design follows the company's new design philosophy, featuring slim headlights and triple-LED fangs flanking the front grille. It also boasts futuristic aluminum wheels, glossy black cladding, and heavily sloped rear windows.
The roof and side pillars are painted in black, and the new design incorporates an aggressive aerodynamic line leading to a distinctive rear. Described as a dynamic and compact sports car, some might recognize it more as a coupe SUV.
The Peugeot E-5008 model is expected to follow shortly after the launch of the E-3008, with the former being longer and featuring a more spacious rear end for customers who require more space. The interior design of the E-3008 has been officially revealed, featuring a curved panoramic screen, a main display screen, and a touchscreen unit all integrated above the small steering wheel.
Additionally, the car includes a smaller touchscreen on the center console with customizable "i-Toggles" shortcuts, along with extensive use of ambient lighting and high-quality fabrics to complete the futuristic ambiance.
The 2024 Peugeot E-3008 is expected to be the first model to use an entirely new STLA Medium platform, replacing the EMP2 advanced platform. It is also confirmed that the car will be available with three fully electric powertrains, offering an estimated range of up to 700 kilometers.
Furthermore, some reports suggest that the STLA platform might also be compatible with internal combustion engines, potentially allowing for a new 3008 model featuring a 1.2-liter 48V hybrid engine instead of the electric E-3008 model.
Full details will be revealed on September 12, 2023, with the unveiling streamed live from the Sochaux factory in France. Prices are expected to be higher than the current Peugeot 3008 models offered in hybrid and hybrid battery-equipped variants. The company has committed to providing electric options for all its models by 2025, before becoming an all-electric brand in Europe by 2030.
