Hyundai Motor has announced the launch of the new "Pleos Connect" system, marking a significant step toward smart, connected vehicles. The system is based on Android Automotive OS and provides a smartphone-like experience inside the car, making driving more interactive and seamless.

What is Pleos Connect?

The Pleos Connect system is an advanced in-car entertainment and technology platform, featuring:

• A modern user interface similar to smartphones.
• Multi-window functionality for easy access to apps and information while driving.
• A smart voice assistant named "Gleo".
• A single profile system, Pleos ID, usable across any compatible vehicle.

Key Features of Pleos Connect

1. Large Central Display: Replaces the traditional dashboard with a clear central screen and a head-up display (HUD) for the driver.
2. Over-the-Air Updates: Software improvements and new features can be added without changing the vehicle’s hardware.
3. App Support and Development: The "Pleos Playground" platform allows developers to create and distribute new in-car apps.
4. Advanced Autonomous Driving: Supports Level 2+ autonomous driving by 2027 using AI and deep learning technologies.

Launch Timeline

The 2026 Hyundai Elantra (also known as Avante in South Korea) will debut the system in Q2 2026.

The Hyundai Tucson will follow in Q3 2026.

Hyundai aims to implement the system in over 20 million vehicles by 2030.
