Evening Vehicle Licensing Moves to King Hussein Business Park: What Changed and How to Prepare

Renewing your vehicle license is a yearly task you can’t skip, but it can be hard to fit into official working hours. That is why many car owners in Amman relied on the Ghamdan evening licensing station, where they could finish their paperwork after work.

That is now changing. The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Department has announced that the services offered at the station are moving to the Comprehensive Government Services Center in West Amman, inside King Hussein Business Park, starting Sunday, 1 November 2026.

So what exactly has changed? Which services are available at the new location? And how can you prepare so you get everything done in one visit?

1. What exactly has changed?

Before you head out to license your car, here are the details of the decision as announced by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Department.

The new location

The services previously offered at the Ghamdan evening licensing station are now available at the Comprehensive Government Services Center in West Amman, inside King Hussein Business Park on King Abdullah II Street.

Start date

The new location starts operating on Sunday, 1 November 2026. From that date, the Ghamdan evening station is no longer the place to go for these services.

Available services

The center offers a full range of services, including:

  • Vehicle technical inspection.
  • Vehicle license renewal.
  • Ownership transfers.
  • Issuing and renewing personal driving licenses.
  • Paying fees and traffic fines.
  • Compulsory insurance policies through insurance company offices inside the center.

What is not included

The center does not offer the theory and practical tests for a first-time driving license. These remain available only at the main daytime licensing departments.

2. Why was the service moved?

The move was made in coordination with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Jordan Insurance Federation. Its stated goal is to make procedures easier for citizens and to deliver better service with less effort.

The new location is part of a government services center that brings several authorities together in one place, including insurance company offices. This means you can arrange your insurance and your licensing in the same visit.

3. How to prepare for your visit

A new location is a good reason to plan ahead so you don’t need a second trip. These steps can help.

Check the working hours before you go

The announcement did not include working hours for the new location. Check the official channels of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Department before your visit, especially during the first days after the move.

Prepare your documents in advance

Confirm which documents your transaction needs before you leave home. Forgetting a single document can mean a second visit.

Check your car before the technical inspection

Review the basics that are easy to fix, such as lights, tires and windshield wipers. With winter approaching, you can get 20% off wipers through the DOOZ app.

Note: first-time driving license tests

The theory and practical tests are not available at the new location. Head to the main daytime departments for them instead.

4. What to do in each case

How the change affects you depends on the transaction you need. Here are the most common cases.

You planned to license your car in the evening at Ghamdan after 1 November

Go to the Comprehensive Government Services Center at King Hussein Business Park instead of the old station.

You need to renew your vehicle license or get a technical inspection

Both services are available at the new location, and you can get compulsory insurance in the same place.

You are selling or buying a car

Ownership transfers are available at the new location.

You need to issue or renew a driving license

Issuing and renewing personal driving licenses is available. The theory and practical tests for a first-time license remain at the main daytime departments.

You are not sure about the working hours

Check the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Department’s channels before you go.

This information is based on what has been announced so far. The official authorities may publish more details after the move takes effect.

5. Licensing is a good time to review your car

Your licensing date is not only about paperwork. It is also a good moment to check your car’s condition and ask whether it still fits your needs.

If you are thinking of buying a car

The DOOZ app brings together more than 17,000 cars from dealerships, showrooms, the free zone and private sellers in one place. You can read the AutoScore inspection report for inspected cars and use the financing calculator to see your monthly installment before visiting a showroom.

If you are thinking of selling your car

DOOZ PRO handles the key parts of selling, from an AutoScore inspection to marketing, calls and negotiation, all the way to closing the deal. Before you sign up, ask about the service fees and terms.

From Sunday, 1 November 2026, the Ghamdan evening licensing services are available at the Comprehensive Government Services Center in King Hussein Business Park. This includes technical inspection, license renewal, ownership transfers, driving licenses and compulsory insurance, but not the theory and practical tests.

With a little preparation, such as checking the working hours, getting your documents ready and reviewing your car’s condition, you can complete your transaction easily at the new location.

And if this year’s licensing date is when you start thinking about a new car, browse the options on the DOOZ app, compare, calculate your installment, and find it and buy it on DOOZ.
