Jordan’s Public Security Directorate announced partial and full traffic closures along the route of the AYLA DEAD2RED cycling and running race, which extends from the Ghor Al Safi area to the city of Aqaba. The closures will take place on Thursday and Friday, October 22 and 23, 2026, to manage traffic and ensure the safety of participants.

According to the announcement, partial closures in both directions will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, starting from the Potash Company square in Ghor Al Safi and extending to Ayla Resort in Aqaba. The road will then be fully closed from 5:00 p.m. on the same day.

The road is scheduled to reopen gradually starting at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, depending on the progress of the race and the completion of activities along the route.

The race course stretches approximately 200 kilometers, passing through Ghor Fifa, Quraiqira, Al Risha, Rahmeh, Qatar, Bir Madhkur, and Wadi Araba. It then continues to the northern entrance of Aqaba, followed by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority intersection and the Al Farouq Street intersection, before ending at the entrance to Ayla Resort.

The race is organized by Generations for Peace under the supervision of the Jordan Cycling Federation, with participants of various nationalities and both genders.

The Public Security Directorate urged drivers to follow the instructions and guidance of its personnel stationed along the route, cooperate with them, and use alternative roads when necessary to ensure public safety and maintain smooth traffic flow.
