The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has reported that Nissan has issued a recall for over 236,000 new vehicles in the United States due to potential steering system defects. Specifically, the 2020, 2021, and 2022 models of the Nissan Sentra are the most affected by these issues, which pose several risks, including the potential loss of steering control, increasing the likelihood of unexpected accidents.
Nissan has also requested all its customers who have noticed unusual vibrations in their vehicle's steering wheel to immediately contact the nearest service center and refrain from driving their cars until the issue is resolved. Nissan will be sending notifications to all owners of these affected vehicles in the United States starting from October of the upcoming year. Similar recalls for Nissan vehicles in other global markets may be issued at a later time.
It is worth noting that most of these vehicles were previously recalled in 2021 for the same steering system problem. However, it appears that the previous solution was not sufficient, as the issue has resurfaced, leading to increased user complaints.
