Lamborghini Launches Hybrid Phenomeno Roadster with 1,065 HP in Limited Production

The Italian company Lamborghini has officially unveiled its new Phenomeno Roadster, setting a new record as the most powerful open-top car the brand has ever produced. This exclusive edition is highly limited to just 15 units worldwide, making it even rarer than its coupe counterpart, which had a production run of 29 units.

Design and Aerodynamics

  • Historical Inspiration: The exterior design is clearly inspired by the 1968 Miura Roadster concept car. It features a signature blue paint with red accents as a tribute to the Italian city of Bologna.
  • Aerodynamic Engineering: Lamborghini overcame the challenge of losing aerodynamic efficiency and stability after removing the roof by redesigning the front windshield and integrating a carbon fiber wing. This setup channels air directly over the cabin toward the new engine bay and helps cool the carbon-ceramic brakes.

Powertrain and Hybrid Performance

The Phenomeno Roadster carries over the exact mechanical components from the coupe version, blending raw mechanical power with hybrid technology:

  • Engine: 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12.
  • Electric Motors: 3 electric motors paired with a 7 kWh battery.
  • Total Output: 1,065 horsepower.
  • Total Weight: Approximately 1,772 kilograms.

Acceleration and Top Speed

Despite the lack of a roof, the performance figures remain outstanding, closely matching the coupe:

  • 0 to 100 km/h: Just 2.4 seconds.
  • 0 to 200 km/h: 6.8 seconds (only a tenth of a second slower than the coupe).
  • Top Speed: Exceeds 340 km/h.
